Expert tears apart Talarico's viral claim his agenda is based on Jesus's teachings: 'Butchering the Bible'

Texas Senate nominee James Talarico once proclaimed the Bible gives him a moral reason to fight for his progressive policies, but one expert is now accusing Talarico of spreading a "perverted version" of Christianity to justify his agenda. Talarico, a Presbyterian seminarian, set off a wave of criticism this week after saying his support for universal healthcare and rejection of "this corrupt system" are rooted in "biblical grounds." He pointed to the actions of Jesus and the Hebrew prophets as the rationale. "When Jesus healed the sick, he didn't ask for a deductible. So when I fight for universal healthcare, I'm doing it on biblical grounds," he wrote in an X post viewed over 2 million times. "When he fed the hungry, he didn't price gouge for a profit. When the Hebrew prophets saw corruption, they spoke truth to power. When I take on this corrupt system, I'm doing it on biblical grounds." Just Facts president and co...

Golden State Valkyries erase 16-point deficit, stun Dallas Wings to reach WNBA semifinals

The Golden State Valkyries’ second season has brought historic success on and off the court. The WNBA expansion franchise received the league’s highest valuation from Forbes, just before the WNBA tipped off its milestone 30th season. In 2025, the Valkyries became the first expansion franchise in league history to reach the playoffs in its inaugural season. They also sold out every regular season home game and set a league attendance record, averaging more than 18,000 fans per contest. The Valkyries built on that successful debut Friday night, rallying past the Dallas Wings in Game 3 to secure the first playoff series victory in franchise history. Valkyries forward Gabby Williams scored 19 points as Golden State rallied from a 16-point deficit to beat Dallas 77-73 in a dramatic, winner-take-all Game 3. Northwestern Wildcats christen new Ryan Field with impressive win over Penn State Nittany Lions

After spending some time playing in a (very cool) makeshift stadium on the shores of Lake Michigan, the Northwestern Wildcats finally christened the new Ryan Field in an important Big Ten clash with Penn State. Both teams came in with one loss, and another would almost certainly tank any hopes of getting into the Big Ten Championship conversation. The Wildcats came in off of an impressive showing against Indiana, and it became evident that that was no fluke, thanks to a 34-13 win over the Nittany Lions . CLICK HERE FOR MORE OUTKICK SPORTS COVERAGE But before the game, Northwestern took a second to show off their new $875 million home — which opened its doors 100 years to the day after its predecessor debuted — and it was spectacular. The first points at the new Ryan Field went to — fittingly enough — the Wildcats when Jackson Kleather booted a 50-yarder between the uprights to cap off Northwestern's maiden drive in their new home. The Nittany Lions were forced to punt on their ope...

Trump admin wants to require tax filers to disclose citizenship status to IRS

The Trump administration has proposed requiring U.S. taxpayers to disclose their citizenship and work authorization status to the IRS on the annual tax form that nearly all workers file each year. The administration claims the proposed requirement would help federal officials stop illegal migrants from collecting federal benefits they are not eligible for, which officials argue could save taxpayers up to $2 billion. The IRS posted its draft 1040 form for 2026 in late August, which includes the question, "At the time you file your return, are you, and your spouse if filing jointly, a U.S. citizen, U.S. national, or an alien lawfully authorized to work in the U.S.?" The form has "Yes" and "No" checkboxes for both the filer and their spouse. A draft of a second form, Schedule 3-A, which is used to claim refundable tax credits, features a similar question. Season's over: Caitlin Clark leaves it all on court with bloody mouth as Fever fall in Game 3

It was win-or-go-home for Caitlin Clark , and she went down swinging. The season came to an end for Clark and the Indiana Fever with a 94-83 loss to A'ja Wilson and the reigning champion Las Vegas Aces in Thursday's decisive Game 3. Wilson led the charge with 36 points in the winning effort, dropping 21 by halftime. The Fever kept it within single digits until the final two minutes, but the shots just didn't fall down the stretch. Clark — the AP Comeback Player of the Year — finished with 18 points on 6-of-18 shooting. Still, Indiana fought hard to save their season against the reigning champs, headlined by Clark's raw grit. Down 82-77 in the fourth quarter with 3:16 remaining, Clark took a sharp elbow to the face from Jewell Loyd. With her mouth bleeding profusely, she quickly ran back onto the court, fiercely fighting back against head coach Stephanie White and game officials just to stay on the floor. Drama was at a fever pitch coming into Thursday's decisive ga...

Braves dominate Phillies with big home runs to set up huge NLDS against Los Angeles Dodgers

While the three other wild card series ended in two-game sweeps, the matchup between the Atlanta Braves and Philadelphia Phillies has delivered exceptional postseason drama. In game one, the Braves trailed late while trying to mount a comeback against typically dominant closer Jhoan Duran. With two outs in the bottom of the 8th down 3-2, third baseman Austin Riley delivered, launching a game-changing homer to give Atlanta a 5-3 lead. Raisel Iglesias closed it out to give them a 1-0 series lead. Philadelphia turned the tables in game two, just when it seemed like the Braves would close out the sweep. With the score tied at one, Bryce Harper misplayed a routine fly ball to right field in the bottom of the 7th, allowing a run to score and setting up another to come in on a sacrifice fly. In the 8th, he made up for it. After Kyle Schwarber demolished a ball to make it 3-2, Harper followed it up with one of his own to tie it at 3. Alec Bohm broke the tie in the 10th, and Andrew Painter f...

White Sox, Yankees advance to next round with sweeps as Munetaka Murakami provides quote of the year

Wednesday afternoon had plenty of potential for drama, with all four wild card series offering the potential for teams to advance into the division round of the Major League Baseball playoffs . The first game of the quadruple-header, the Atlanta Braves and Philadelphia Phillies, delivered in spades. A Bryce Harper misplay in the 7th inning allowed two Braves' runs to score, putting the Phillies on the brink of elimination. But Schwarber and Harper hit back-to-back homers in the 8th to tie it, and a 10th inning homer for Alec Bohm won it for Philadelphia to force a winner-take-all game three on Thursday. Then there's the Houston Astros . The Astros entered game two needing a win to force a game three, sending their ace, Hunter Brown, to the mound against the White Sox' powerful lineup. 36 pitches, five hits, four runs, two errors and just two outs later, the White Sox had a 4-0 lead and Brown was out of the game. Ohio cancer patient sues hospital after surgeon allegedly amputated wrong leg

An Ohio woman is suing after her surgeon allegedly amputated the wrong leg when she underwent a below-the-knee amputation that the lawsuit says was required because of cancer in her right leg. Sharon Jacks, who is now a double amputee, was scheduled to have a below-the-knee amputation of her right leg at Selby General Hospital in Marietta, Ohio, on Sept. 19, 2025, but she woke up to her left leg missing, according to the lawsuit, WBNS reported. "She went into surgery, and when she woke up, the wrong leg had been taken off," Jacks’ attorney Brad Layne told the outlet. "It defies explanation, obviously." The leg that was originally supposed to be amputated was later cut off as well, leaving her without either leg. Utah man released after decades on death row as DNA evidence excludes him from 1985 killing

A Utah man who has spent decades on death row after he was convicted of killing a police chief's aunt has been released after prosecutors said newly analyzed DNA evidence excluded him as the source of DNA recovered from key pieces of evidence in the case. Douglas Stewart Carter, 71, was let out on bail late Monday over objections from the victim's family. He must wear a GPS monitor while he awaits a new trial in the killing of Eva Olesen, who was found tied up, stabbed and shot inside her Provo home on Feb. 27, 1985, during what investigators suspected was a robbery. A judge ordered him not to have any contact with Olesen's family. The Utah Supreme Court ordered a new trial last year, pointing to misconduct by investigators. Cam Schlittler and Ben Rice, Yankees’ own Massachusetts natives, crush Red Sox in Game 1 blowout

While Aaron Judge is on the shelf for the entirety of this best-of-three Wild Card Series against the Boston Red Sox, other New York Yankees homegrown talent stepped up to take Game 1 in the Bronx on Tuesday night. It was two Massachusetts natives, Cam Schlittler and Ben Rice, who played a vital role in setting the tone with a key victory to open the postseason. It’s no secret Schlitter, who hails from Walpole, Mass., has had the Red Sox ’s number ever since his incredible eight-inning Game 3 performance in this same Wild Card bout last year. He came into this contest with an ERA below one, as Boston just hasn’t been able to figure him out. CLICK HERE FOR MORE OUTKICK SPORTS COVERAGE Schlittler has even leaned into the villain role he plays in the Red Sox fan base’s ecosystem, poking the proverbial bear on social media. He has always been able to back up his talk with his performance on the mound, and Tuesday night was no different. Schlittler, a frontrunner for the AL Cy Young Award,...

State Department considers sharing passport records for voter citizenship checks

The State Department is assessing how it could grant state and local officials access to federal passport records to verify voters' citizenship status ahead of the midterm elections in November. The department is weighing how to share passport information with state and local officials, as well as some nonprofit groups, as part of the initiative that aims to ensure registered voters are U.S. citizens. The objective of the plan is to share the information in a way that "protects Americans' data, deters fraud and supports the integrity of U.S. citizenship," a department spokesperson said in a statement to NewsNation. The Justice Department disclosed the plan in a court filing last week, saying federal officials plan to use passport records to identify potential noncitizens on voter registration rolls. LeBron James admits he nearly joined the Knicks before Jalen Brunson won the NBA title without him

LeBron James took the mic at 76ers Media Day, sounding like classic LeBron. After a summer of endless free agency rumors, opting out of his contract, and leaving his family on the West Coast to chase another ring in the East, he finally landed in Philadelphia. Yet before taking a single shot in a Sixers uniform, he was already laying down excuses and tossing his new teammates under the bus. "If we can do that, then we can be a great team," he said. "If we don't do that, then we'll be like, 'Oh man, it was a great team on paper. We had a lot of great talent, and we lost in the second round.' I don't wanna do that. I didn't leave my family to lose in the second round, I know that for sure. So the work needs to be done, and I'm ready to put the work in." Classic LeBron. If they win, he is the savior. If they lose, the team on paper simply did not put in the work. Then came the best part. LeBron admitted he nearly signed with the New York Kn...

Sen Kennedy says no living politicians should have buildings named after them after Trump's moves

Sen. John Kennedy, R-La., said on Sunday that living public officials should not have buildings named after them and proposed a rule to prohibit such renaming efforts. This comes as President Donald Trump continues to push to rename the Kennedy Center after himself. The president has also sought to rename other prominent federal buildings in Washington, D.C., after himself since returning to the White House last year. Kennedy said public officials, including Trump, should not "spend public money on private ads for themselves." "The White House sees it differently, but … you can’t spend public money to … promote yourself," Kennedy told host Margaret Brennan during an appearance on CBS News' "Face the Nation." KENNEDY CENTER CEILING PARTIALLY COLLAPSES AS TRUMP-LED BOARD PUSHES FOR 2-YEAR CLOSURE Kennedy's comments came as a new ad promoting Trump appeared on multiple networks, that was funded by the federal government. How a six pack of beer and the Magna Carta could finally fix a problem plaguing Americans for decades

The Supreme Court will soon hear oral arguments in a case out of Alaska that centers around an airplane, a six pack of beer, and an amendment to the Constitution that traces its history back centuries as a legal expert lays out the potential impact of the ruling to Fox News Digital. "Excessive bail shall not be required, nor excessive fines imposed, nor cruel and unusual punishments inflicted," the 8th Amendment to the U.S. Constitution reads. That amendment is at the heart of a case that will be heard by the Supreme Court in December and Cully Stimson, a senior legal fellow at Heritage Foundation, described it as "the case that libertarians and freedom-minded people have been hoping for for years." Kenneth Jouppi, now 82, was operating a one-man air taxi service using his personally-owned 1969 Cessna plane in 2012 when Alaska state troopers executed a search warrant on his plane and found alcohol on board, including one six-pack that they said was plainly visible...
