Dodgers stave off elimination to set up winner-take-all World Series Game 7

The defending World Series champion Los Angeles Dodgers entered Friday night just one loss away from elimination. But a bold move to bring in Sunday's projected starter, Tyler Glasnow, in the final frame of the ninth inning helped the Dodgers survive. Glasnow entered Friday’s win-or-go home game with a Toronto Blue Jays runner on second and another on third base. It took Glasnow just three pitches to get three outs to close the game and force a Game 7. CLICK HERE FOR MORE SPORTS COVERAGE ON FOXNEWS.COM Two of those outs came after the Dodgers turned what appeared to be a potential game-tying hit into a dramatic, game-ending double play. Dodgers manager Dave Roberts decided to shake up the lineup again for Game 6. After moving from second to third in the order in Wednesday’s Game 5 loss, shortstop Mookie Betts dropped into the cleanup spot Friday against Blue Jays right-hander Kevin Gausman. OUTFIELDER? With a nuclear backdrop, Trump eases tensions with Xi but merely returns to the status quo

Donald Trump, who prides himself on being a peacemaker, is going nuclear. For more than 30 years, the Americans and the Russians – and before that, the Soviets – negotiated over limiting nukes. The theory was simple: Both countries had the power to destroy the world several times over, so why spend untold billions on an endless arms race? Trump made the announcement just before meeting with the president of China , which is the third-ranking nuclear power, but is quickly catching up. "Because of other countries testing programs, I have instructed the Department of War to start testing our Nuclear Weapons on an equal basis," the president wrote. Although "we have more nuclear weapons than anybody," he added about testing, "I think it’s appropriate that we do also." TRUMP BREAKS 33-YEAR NUCLEAR TESTING SILENCE AS WORLD BRACES FOR DANGEROUS NEW ARMS RACE This comes as Vladimir Putin is doing some military muscle-flexing, saying he’s developing a "Po...

Ravens’ Lamar Jackson lights up Dolphins with 4 TDs in dominant return from injury

Lamar Jackson ’s return to the Baltimore Ravens couldn’t have gone much better. The former MVP threw four touchdown passes to lead a 28-6 rout of the Miami Dolphins on "Thursday Night Football." Jackson had missed the last four games with a hamstring injury, watching from the sidelines as Baltimore slid into a rut. After last week's win moved the Ravens to 2-6, head coach John Harbaugh confirmed Jackson would be back for Week 9 – and he delivered.  While he didn’t test that hamstring too much with his usual Houdini scrambling act, Jackson’s arm wanted to let loose, having been dormant for a month.  CLICK HERE FOR MORE SPORTS COVERAGE ON FOXNEWS.COM It came in the first quarter after the Ravens’ defense forced a fumble on Tahj Washington that put Baltimore on Miami’s seven-yard line. After Derrick Henry attempted to get in twice and failed, Jackson rolled out on fourth-and-goal and found his trusty tight end Mark Andrews to make it a 7-3 ballgame.  Then, after a miss...

Hannity town hall: GOP candidate reveals which far-left policy he will eliminate first as governor

In a televised town hall with Fox News host Sean Hannity on Thursday, New Jersey Republican gubernatorial candidate Jack Ciattarelli announced which far-left policy will be his day-one priority to eliminate if he is elected governor. With just five days until Election Day , Ciattarelli trails his Democratic opponent, Rep. Mikie Sherrill, by seven points in deep blue New Jersey. Nonetheless, while speaking with Hannity in Point Pleasant, New Jersey, Ciattarelli maintained that his campaign holds the momentum to upset Sherrill and flip the state red. If he should win the race, Ciattarelli told Hannity that his very first priority would be eliminating New Jersey’s sanctuary policies, keeping local and state authorities from cooperating with federal immigration enforcement operations. "Executive order number one, on day one, no town in this state will be a sanctuary city , we will not be a sanctuary state," said Ciattarelli, as the crowd, filled with local New Jerseyans, brok...

Blue Jays one win from World Series title after Trey Yesavage's dominant Game 5 performance

Trey Yesavage’s final start of a wild 2025 season, which began in Single-A ball to pitching his second World Series game for the Toronto Blue Jays , ends with a pivotal masterpiece. Yesavage, the 22-year-old who worked his wall through the Blue Jays’ minor league system to eventually cement himself as a key member of this postseason run, delivered a seven-inning masterclass on the mound at Dodger Stadium to help Toronto defeat Los Angeles, 6-1, in Game 5 of the World Series.  Thanks to the efforts of Yesavage, and some more timely hitting by this Blue Jays lineup, Toronto is heading back north with only one more win needed to win the World Series.  CLICK HERE FOR MORE SPORTS COVERAGE ON FOXNEWS.COM Yesavage struck out 12 Dodgers hitters and allowed just three hits and one earned run over a 104-pitch performance that saw 10 of those strikeouts in the first five innings of the contest.  The only other person to do that in MLB history? Dodgers legend Sandy Koufax, who...

Trump, Xi meet in effort to resolve trade tensions sparked by US tariffs

U.S. President Donald Trump on Thursday met face-to-face with Chinese leader Xi Jinping in Busan, South Korea – just hours after Trump hinted online at potential shifts in U.S. defense and trade policy.  The meeting marked the final stop of Trump’s Asia trip, which also included stops in Malaysia and Japan, and focused on cooling the economic standoff between Washington and Beijing.  Since returning to the White House in January, Trump has levied major tariffs on Chinese imports – a move that prompted Beijing to tighten its control over exports of rare earth elements. Both leaders signaled interest in reducing tensions to avoid further shocks to the global economy.  Trump and Xi spoke briefly to the press before heading into a closed-door session for less than two hours with senior aides.  TRUMP VISITS SOUTH KOREA AS HE ATTEMPTS TO SECURE BILLIONS IN INVESTMENT "It’s an honor to be with a friend of mine," Trump said of Xi, adding that while some issues remain u...

Trump says he could deploy US military in American cities, claims ‘courts wouldn’t get involved’

President Donald Trump spoke to the press while en route to South Korea on Tuesday aboard Air Force One and made remarks about his authority to deploy U.S. military forces domestically — something that will likely draw legal and political concerns. Trump was traveling to the Asia-Pacific Economic Cooperation (APEC), where he is scheduled to meet with Chinese President Xi Jinping . During the media availability, Trump claimed he could deploy U.S. military forces into American cities if necessary, claiming that "the courts wouldn’t get involved." When speaking with reporters, he said he would consider using the military beyond the National Guard if the need arises. Texas honeymooners trapped in Jamaica as Category 5 Hurricane Melissa slams island

What began as a dream honeymoon has turned into a terrifying ordeal for Texas newlyweds Kasydee and Hunter Bishop, who are stranded in Jamaica as Category 5 storm Hurricane Melissa barrels toward the island, according to Fox 4 Dallas-Fort Worth . Melissa is forecast to become the strongest hurricane in Jamaica’s history with sustained winds of 175 mph. Officials are warning of life-threatening flash flooding, landslides and widespread damage to nearby regions. Residents and visitors alike are being urged to take emergency precautions as the storm approaches. The Bishops, who are staying in  Montego Bay on the island’s northwest coast, arrived just before evacuation orders were issued, Fox 4 reported. Since then, the airport has been boarded up and all outgoing flights canceled, leaving many tourists stranded as the hurricane bears down, the station added. "All we are hearing is how intense the storm is going to be, and we just really have no idea what to expect right...

Book bummer: Why reading is in deep decline

Let me start off with a confession. I’ve always been an avid reader. There was a time when I was constantly plowing through novels – Updike, Irving, Roth, Malamud, Atwood – plus occasional non-fiction, including all of Bob Woodward’s books. And as the author of six books, I love the feel of a bound volume . It’s always a rush to get that first copy in your hands, a great feeling of accomplishment. But all that was before smartphones – or more precisely, the kind of phones and apps that bombard us with Instagram and TikTok hot takes, endless images and AI summaries. GETTING KIDS TO PICK UP A BOOK And now I’m not reading anywhere near as much. Too busy glued to the screen. My attention span has shrunk. Harder to sit through, say, a two-hour movie. Easier to watch in shorter segments. Has my brain been transformed? Have I just gotten lazy? (That’s a rhetorical question.) I began dwelling on this after reading a Free Press essay by James Marriott titled "The Dawn of the Postli...

Kelce had six catches for 99 yards as Kansas City has yet to have a 100-yard receiver this season. Mahomes was 25-of-3...

TREY GOWDY: China is misjudging Trump on trade. It may soon be very surprised

In a political environment where little is agreed upon, there stands one exception: China. That country is cited by nearly every national security expert as the No. 1 geopolitical threat to the U.S. The question is how to coexist without being codependent, how to compete without conflict, and how to protect American producers and consumers while China plays by its arbitrary rules. No sooner had a meeting between President Donald Trump and Chinese President Xi Jinping been announced before China threatened U.S. access to rare earth minerals. The U.S. countered by threatening an additional 100% tariff on Chinese imports. Most Americans could not conjure why China would make such a provocative move after both presidents agreed to meet. Surely, the Chinese government must know Trump would react. Xi has been the leader of China for well over a decade with no sign of relenting. FIDDLING WHILE ROME BURNS: AMERICA IGNORES CHINA’S RISING RED TIDE Conversely, Trump is nearly a year into his...

First lady Dolley Madison would have had a ball with Trump's White House renovations

Dolley Madison, the fashionable wife of President James Madison, was the hostess with the mostess in Washington from 1809 to 1817. She threw the best parties in town, hands down. So, what would she say about President Donald Trump 's ballroom? She would say, "Let's have a squeeze," which was the nickname for her parties because they were packed with people. She would welcome the addition and understand the need for it. In her era, inviting congressmen and senators from both political parties to a White House party was dangerous. President Thomas Jefferson steered away from it. Why? Duels. As Americans have seen a rise in political violence today, it is easy to feel the horror that Americans experienced when they learned of a duel. Men would challenge each other to a duel where they would each fire a shot at the other to settle a conflict. Vice President Aaron Burr infamously shot and killed Secretary of the Treasury Alexander Hamilton in a duel in 1804. The scanda...

Milei scores historic win in Argentina midterms, tightens grip on Congress

Argentine President Javier Milei secured a decisive victory Sunday in midterm elections , expanding his control of Congress and giving his government fresh momentum to push forward with deep spending cuts and sweeping free-market reforms. The result gives Milei’s libertarian movement a boost and marks another sharp turn for one of Latin America’s largest and most volatile economies. Milei’s party, La Libertad Avanza, won about 41.5% of the vote in Buenos Aires province , a historic upset in a region long dominated by the Peronist opposition. The rival coalition took 40.8%, according to figures cited by Reuters and The Associated Press. GREECE’S HARD LESSON FOR NYC: BEWARE LEADERS WHO PROMISE THE WORLD Nationwide, La Libertad Avanza increased its seats in the lower house from 37 to 64, positioning Milei to more easily defend his vetoes and executive decrees that have defined his economic agenda. Schumer accuses Trump of 'skipping town' during shutdown as president heads to Asia for trade talks

Senate Minority Leader Chuck Schumer , D-N.Y., on Friday accused President Donald Trump of "skipping town" for a trip to Asia during the ongoing government shutdown. Trump departed for Asia Friday night for a weeklong trip that will include stops in Malaysia, Japan and South Korea. Republicans and Democrats remain divided on negotiations to end the shutdown that began earlier this month, with each side blaming the other as the GOP controls the White House and both chambers of Congress. "In the midst of the longest full government shutdown in American history — a crisis of his own making — President Trump’s priorities are severely misplaced," Schumer said in a statement. Newsom bails out Planned Parenthood with $140M to keep 100 clinics open after Trump cuts

California officials are giving Planned Parenthood $140 million to keep 109 clinics open and offset the financial strain from cuts imposed by Republicans in Washington, Democrat Gov. Gavin Newsom announced. Newsom said the move affirms the state’s continued commitment to abortion access for women in the Golden State amid efforts by President Donald Trump and congressional Republicans to shut down Planned Parenthood. "California is a reproductive freedom state, and this latest investment continues to show our belief in protecting access to essential health care in times of distress," Newsom said in a statement on Thursday. "Trump’s efforts to defund Planned Parenthood put all our communities at risk as people seek basic health care from these community providers." SEN DICK DURBIN: Democrats fighting to protect healthcare while Trump, Republicans play shutdown games

Starting next year, my constituent, Tammy of Woodhull, Illinois, will see her healthcare premiums rise by nearly $600 per month. Ingrid, of Springfield, is a disabled retiree currently battling cancer . She now faces a tough choice: pay $1,400 a month in premiums and copays and cut back on other essentials or go without healthcare coverage altogether. And Melanie, of Elmhurst, is a small business owner who relies on the Affordable Care Act   for coverage. She says the out-of-pocket costs for the same plan next year are "unaffordable, plain and simple." 7 NBA games DOJ says were affected by high-stakes wagers after inside information was leaked to gamblers

The Department of Justice listed seven games that saw high-stakes wagers after non-public information was disclosed to gamblers. Terry Rozier, the DOJ says, was directly involved in one of them, while Damon Jones is said to have given information about two Los Angeles Lakers games when he was an assistant coach for the team. Rozier's alleged involvement came through a game on March 23, 2023, when he told a childhood friend, Deniro Laster, that he would take himself out of a game early, citing an injury, so Laster could place wagers based on the information. Neither Hornets officials nor betting companies were made aware of Rozier's plan, according to the indictment, and Rozier was not listed on the team's injury report. CLICK HERE FOR MORE SPORTS COVERAGE ON FOXNEWS.COM   Laster then allegedly sold that information to other co-conspirators, and numerous people placed wagers totaling roughly $200,000 on Rozier's "under" prop bets to hit in both parlay and...
