Newsom's office continues to mock Trump using his social media writing style: 'TINY HANDS'

The office of California Gov. Gavin Newsom continues to troll President Donald Trump on social media by mimicking his infamous writing style. The press team for the Democratic governor has made several posts on X in recent days mirroring how Trump often writes when posting on X or Truth Social, including using all capital letters and nicknames. In the latest post on Friday, Newsom's team responded to the White House Rapid Response account, which shared a picture of Trump scowling and pointing a finger at Russian President Vladimir Putin following a meeting on Friday between the two world leaders in Alaska. "TINY HANDS IS OUT HERE COPYING ME — BUT WITHOUT THE STAMINA (SAD), AND CERTAINLY WITHOUT THE 'LOOKS.' TOTAL BETA! — GCN," the governor's press team replied on X along with a similar picture from earlier this year of Newsom pointing a finger at Trump's chest. "On Monday, I will meet with President Trump in Washington, D.C., to discuss all of the details regarding ending the killing and the war. I am grateful for the invitation," Zelenskyy wrote on X. Bill Maher slams 'zombie lie' that Trump is Putin's ‘bi--h’ hours after summit in Alaska

"Real Time" host Bill Maher pushed back against the idea that President Donald Trump is "Putin’s bi--h" after Trump met with Russian President Vladimir Putin in Alaska on Friday. "Let’s not have the zombie lie that [Trump] is still backing Putin," Maher told his panel. "First of all, he bombed Iran, that was a Putin ally. He didn’t get out of NATO. He mended fences with NATO. And he put sanctions back on Russia."  After a three-hour meeting between Trump and Putin in Alaska, where the two discussed the ongoing war in Ukraine, Trump called the meeting "very warm" in an exclusive interview with Fox News host Sean Hannity. He also said Putin and Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelenskyy want him to attend the next meeting. Trump reveals 10 striking takeaways from Putin summit in Hannity interview

President Donald Trump was tight-lipped after his high-stakes summit with Russian President Vladimir Putin on Friday but offered some key insight into the meeting to Fox News’ Sean Hannity in an exclusive interview. Here are the key takeaways from Trump’s highly anticipated meeting with the Russian leader as shared with Hannity.  Trump told Hannity that "as far as I’m concerned, there’s no deal until there’s a deal." He noted, however, that "we did make a lot of progress." The president noted to Hannity that he believes Putin is not only open to peace but that he "wants to see it done."  TRUMP SAYS HE 'WON'T BE HAPPY' IF PUTIN DOES NOT AGREE TO A CEASEFIRE IN UKRAINE DURING ALASKA SUMMIT Pressed by Hannity to share what the "one big issue you don’t agree on" that kept the leaders from walking away with a ceasefire deal, Trump declined to share. He said, "No, I’d rather not. I guess somebody’s going to go public with it, th...

AG Bondi strips power from DC police chief, rescinds sanctuary city protections in crime crackdown operation

Attorney General Pam Bondi issued a two-page order on Thursday rescinding illegal immigration protections in Washington, D.C., and naming an "emergency police commissioner" for the city's Metropolitan Police Department. Bondi's order, titled "Restoring Safety and Security to the District of Columbia," mostly took aim at sanctuary city policies within the nation's capital, rescinding any order that limits how Metropolitan police officers can handle interactions and incidents with illegal immigrants. She also stripped power from Metro Police Chief Pamela Smith by naming Drug Enforcement Administration Administrator Terry Cole as the department's "emergency police commissioner," granting him all the "powers and duties vested" in the position. Judge orders RFK Jr's HHS to stop sharing Medicaid data with immigration officials

A federal judge ordered the Department of Health and Human Services to stop providing access to Medicaid enrollees' personal data, including their home addresses, to immigration officials. District Judge Vince Chhabria, an Obama appointee, granted a preliminary injunction blocking the Department of Homeland Security from using Medicaid data obtained from 20 states that filed a lawsuit to stop the data sharing. The order, handed down Tuesday, blocks HHS from sharing data on Medicaid enrollees in these states with Immigration and Customs Enforcement for the purpose of targeting migrants for deportation. "Using CMS data for immigration enforcement threatens to significantly disrupt the operation of Medicaid—a program that Congress has deemed critical for the provision of health coverage to the nation’s most vulnerable residents," Chhabria wrote. Rep. Greene accuses Zelenskyy of trying to 'sabotage' Trump-Putin summit with drone strikes on Russia

Rep. Marjorie Taylor Greene, R-Ga., late Thursday took shots at Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelenskyy , accusing him of trying to sabotage Friday's highly anticipated peace talks between President Donald Trump and Russian President Vladimir Putin by launching drone strikes on Russia.  Greene responded to a post on X from the account, "Open Source Intel," which reported that Ukraine had in recent hours launched "one of the largest" drone attacks on Russia .  "On the eve of the historic peace talks between President Trump and President Putin, Zelensky does this," the Republican lawmaker wrote. "Zelensky doesn't want peace and obviously is trying to sabotage President Trump's heroic efforts to end the war in Ukraine. I pray peace prevails."  Fox News Digital has reached out to the Ukrainian embassy, seeking a response to Greene's post. ICE says illegal migrant threatened to harm himself with butcher knife when stopped by officers in DC

Immigration and Customs Enforcement said on Wednesday that an illegal migrant was detained in Washington, D.C., after he was stopped by agents and subsequently motioned that he would harm himself with a butcher knife. Jimmy Anderson Ayala Mayuri, of Peru, was stopped by federal officers on Wednesday as he was driving his food truck in the nation's capital, according to ICE. "Capital city cleanup continues!" ICE wrote on X. ‘VIOLENT VENEZUELAN ALIEN’ WITH POSSIBLE TDA TIES CAUGHT WITH KNIFE DURING ICE TAKEDOWN IN SAN DIEGO: VIDEO "Illegal Peruvian alien Jimmy Anderson Ayala Mayuri presented a large butcher knife to federal officers and motioned that he'd harm himself with it when we stopped his food truck on National Park Service property in D.C. today," the post continued. Youngkin orders investigation into claims staff at Virginia school arranged abortions without parental consent

Virginia Gov. Glenn Youngkin , a Republican, has directed state police to open a criminal investigation into allegations that staff at a Fairfax County school arranged abortions for students without parental consent, potentially using public money. Officials at Centreville High School allegedly arranged and bankrolled abortions for girls in 2021, including a 17-year-old, without notifying their parents. School administrators may have known the staff-arranged abortions were happening, and school funding may have been used, which could include local, state and federal funds, according to reports. "I am deeply concerned with the allegations that Fairfax County Public Schools officials arranged for minors to get abortions without parental consent and may have misused public funds to pay for them," Youngkin said in a statement on Wednesday. AG Pam Bondi suggests Trump's crime crackdown in DC will help Latino residents

President Donald Trump’s order to crack down on crime in the nation’s capital is "crystal clear," U.S. Attorney General Pam Bondi told Fox Noticias host Rachel Campos-Duffy in an exclusive interview Wednesday.  "I don't have to tell you about the violent crime that we're seeing every day," Bondi said. "Staffers are shot walking out. Drive-bys are happening in the nation's capital. White House reviewing all Smithsonian museum, exhibit content before America 250 celebration in 2026

The Trump administration is cracking down on the Smithsonian Institution ahead of America's 250th anniversary celebration next year, requiring specific national museums and affiliated exhibits to "reflect the unity, progress, and enduring values that define the American story." In a letter penned to Smithsonian Institution Secretary Lonnie Bunch III, Trump administration officials laid out a review process that the institution will undergo in order to ensure alignment with President Donald Trump's "Restoring Truth and Sanity to American History" executive order. "This initiative aims to ensure alignment with the President’s directive to celebrate American exceptionalism, remove divisive or partisan narratives, and restore confidence in our shared cultural institutions," the letter reads. Donald Trump as strongman, riling up his base and investigating his enemies

It’s almost a cliché to say that Donald Trump has accumulated enormous power in the last six months. He has busted through what used to be guardrails, come close to defying the courts, collected big bucks from ABC and CBS, not to mention $200 million from Columbia, cajoled elite law firms into settlements, and taken over law enforcement in Washington. One example: Trump fired Erika McEntarfer as commissioner at the Bureau of Labor Statistics when he didn’t like the Biden appointee’s weak jobs number, 73,000 for July. He has now hired the chief economist from the conservative Heritage Foundation, E.J. Antoni, who has been an outspoken critic of the BLS and has a PhD in economics. He worked on Heritage’s Project 2025, the plan that became a blueprint for the second Trump term, and wants to reform BLS – but his numbers will obviously be pleasing to the White House. Appeals court allows Arkansas' first-in-the-nation ban on gender transition care for minors to be enforced

A federal appeals court on Tuesday upheld an Arkansas law prohibiting doctors from providing gender transition medical treatment to minors, reversing a lower court decision that blocked the first-in-the-nation law. The 8th U.S. Circuit Court of Appeals ruled 8-2 on Tuesday to overturn a lower court decision, now allowing the state to enforce the law. The appeals court cited the U.S. Supreme Court decision in June upholding a similar ban in Tennessee, in which the nation's highest court ruled that the law was constitutional and did not discriminate against transgender people. Referencing the Supreme Court's decision, the appeals court agreed with Arkansas Attorney General Tim Griffin, a Republican, that the law did not violate transgender minors' equal protection rights under the U.S. Constitution. "I applaud the court’s decision and am pleased that children in Arkansas will be protected from experimental procedures," Griffin said in a statement following the...

Wash Post editorial sees possible short term success in Trump's decision to send National Guard to DC

The Washington Post editorial board offered limited support for President Donald Trump's decision to federalize the Washington D.C. police force and send National Guard troops into the city to combat crime, but noted that "longer-term solutions" are needed to make a longstanding impact. "However unpopular he might be in the deep-blue District, Trump is trying to deliver on the law-and-order message of his presidential campaign," the Post stated on Monday. "He might not delve into the weeds of criminal justice, but lawmakers in the city and on Capitol Hill have an opportunity to enact policies that will help." Trump's decision to federalize the D.C. police force and send National Guard troops to the city on Monday came on the heels of a foiled carjacking involving one of his administration's staffers. DC paid protester requests surge 400% amid Trump’s federal takeover of city police: crowd company

A crowd rental company has seen a massive uptick in inquiries regarding its services in Washington, D.C., amid President Donald Trump's move to federalize the police force in the nation's capital.  "Right now, D.C. inquiries are up roughly 400% compared to the same period in 2024," Crowds on Demand CEO Adam Swart told Fox News Digital, adding that the time period he is referencing is May to July 2024.  The company always sees a spike in requests during what Swart calls "high-stakes political moments."  TRUMP'S PLAN TO DEPLOY NATIONAL GUARD IN DC SPARKS BACKLASH FROM RESIDENTS—BUT SOME WELCOME IT "A large share are focused on opposing Trump’s policies in Washington and raising alarms about government overreach," Swart said. Zelenskyy not invited to upcoming Trump, Putin talks — White House says this was the reason

Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelenskyy has been sidelined from peace talks between President Donald Trump and Russian President Vladimir Putin Friday because the Russian leader extended the invitation to meet, according to the White House.  "The president is agreeing to this meeting, at the request of President Putin," White House press secretary Karoline Leavitt told reporters Tuesday. "And the goal of this meeting for the president is to walk away with a better understanding of how we can end this war."  "I think the president of the United States getting in the room with the president of Russia ,sitting face-to-face rather than speaking over the telephone will give this president the best indication of how to end this war and where this is headed," Leavitt said.  Trump and Putin are scheduled to meet in Anchorage, Alaska, Friday — despite the president's comments in recent days that the two would meet in Russia.  "There were many sites dis...

Unsolved home invasion mirrors Idaho student murders just miles away in Washington state

Washington police have released documents describing an unsolved home invasion involving an intruder with a knife and ski mask just a few miles from the Idaho students' murders crime scene. "[The victim] said she was asleep in bed in her room in the basement when she awoke to her bedroom door being opened," according to a Washington police report obtained through public records. "She said she saw a person enter the room and approach her bed. She said the person was wearing a full-face burgundy ski mask and was holding a knife in their right hand." She was unable to tell if the intruder was male or female, but they raised the knife, she told a responding officer. "I like kicked the s--- out of their stomach and screamed super loud, and they like flew back into my closet and then ran out my door and up the stairs," she told responding officers in bodycam video.  INSIDE THE HORROR: IDAHO FOUR CRIME SCENE PHOTOS REVEAL BLOODY AFTERMATH OF ATTACK WATC...

GOP mocks Democrats with memo about wildly unpopular ‘Project 2026’ goals, Dems shoot back

FIRST ON FOX: With an eye to next year's Midterm Elections, the National Republican Congressional Campaign Committee (NRCC) is mocking its Democratic counterpart and House Minority Leader Hakeem Jeffries for advancing "wildly unpopular" policy proposals as part of their "Project 2026" goals. In response, the Democratic Congressional Campaign Committee (DCCC) is hitting back, accusing Republicans of "desperately attempting to distract from their failed leadership and refusal to get a single thing done for the American people." The NRCC released a memo on Tuesday morning in which it knocked Jeffries for failing to meet a self-imposed deadline to roll out a new vision for America with a Democratic-controlled House. The Hill reported in April that Jeffries committed that "over these next 100 days, House Democrats are going to lay out a blueprint for a better America. And you will see a vision for this country’s future that isn’t about Donald Tr...

Trump says he'll know 'in the first two minutes' if Ukraine peace deal is possible with Putin

Tammy Bruce, the State Department spokeswoman, told me in an interview that the president is strategically positioned to stop the fighting in Ukraine . "The point is that the killing has to end," she said on "Media Buzz." "And if there’s anybody who can confront and deal with and manage Putin, it is Donald Trump ." ZELENSKYY URGES DIRECT TALKS WITH PUTIN AS TRUMP SETS PEACE DEADLINE But what if it’s Putin who’s managing Trump? And how can there be any kind of settlement when Volodymyr Zelenskyy is refusing to participate, saying the Kremlin dictator is trying to deceive America? Trump addressed this yesterday, at his news conference on the feds taking over the D.C. police department–and let’s just say he made a point of lowering expectations. One thing that’s impossible to ignore is that whenever Trump threatens sanctions against Moscow, he finds a way to avoid following through. Remember the 50-day deadline? And then the 10-day deadline? The tech behind genetically modified babies is getting a reboot

Image
A Chinese scientist, He Jiankui, made a shocking announcement to the world in 2018: He had secretly engineered the birth of the first gene-edited babies. The birth of the twins was seen as reckless and unethical by the scientific community. That’s because, among other things, the CRISPR gene-editing technique Jiankui used was so new. NPR science correspondent Rob Stein has been following the controversial world of gene-editing and human reproduction, including some companies’ recent quests to push gene-editing technology forward.
